Tools for Making Positive Changes in Your Life

Helpful Resources for Adults

If you’re an adult who is thinking about making some kind of important change, a great place to start is to write it out!  Whether you want to make a career change, or some other big life change, or to get your life on track, or get organized, or start a business, or anything really, you need to get clear on what it is you want.  Take some time to explore your thoughts and feelings about it, understand your intentions and desires, and map out your plan.

Enrichment Source has some printable resources to help adults make changes in different areas of life.  These journals, workbooks, and planners were designed to guide you in thinking about and planning the changes you want to make in your life, whatever they might be.

Here is an overview:

Is there something in your life that you want to change?  Something that’s holding you back?  Are you stuck?  In a rut?  Not sure what to do, or where to start?

Sometimes, the best place to start is to just write it out.  Writing (journaling) is very helpful, as it gives us a way to organize our thoughts, to get them out of our heads and on paper to be able to see it.  The very act of writing it out can be therapeutic, a release, a relief.  It allows us to see the problems (giving it a new, visual, physical perspective), and an outlet to unburden your mind by getting it out, while also capturing it, so you can then do something with it, about it.

I becomes clearer, more tangible, easier to manipulate (or work with). rather than just ruminating, rehashing, replaying it in your head over and over.  It’s pro-active, a starting point for change, a launching pad for letting it go, and a foundation, on which to build better things.

Business Planning Workbook

Are you thinking about starting a business, or have you recently started one?  It’s a good idea to really examine your business idea and plan it out as much as possible before launching it.  You need to know who your market is and why they need and want your product or service, how your product or service solves a problem for them, why they will buy it, how your business is different and better than others out there, why you want to start it, how you’re going to structure it, finance it, sustain it, and more.

This is a helpful guide for planning and working out your business idea.  It provides questions and prompts to get you thinking about different aspects of your business.  It helps you to figure out what business you want to start and how to go about it, what you need to do in order to start your business, and more.

This packet will help you create one big binder that holds all the important information needed for adult life!  When you’re not sure about something, need a reference or reminder, consult your Life Planner Binder!  It will help to keep you on track.  Make sure to take the time to set up your binder, and to update and add to it regularly.

In this packet, I’ve included a list of some of the many tasks that many adults might have (of course, this won’t be the same for everyone; add to and/or delete items as needed).  It includes things many of us don’t really think about, or that we might not think of in time.  I created this list over a long period of time, as a reference for myself.  At lot of it comes from gathering information from some very organized people I know, as well as from extensive research, personal experience, and trying out several strategies to see what’s most effective for me.
